Click on the links for ideas on lunch snacks for your child.  We emphasize the importance of eating healthy.

Please ensure your child does not bring any nut products to school as we have a number of students (and Mrs. Thomson) who are anaphalaxtic (severely allergic) to them.  If your child has any allergies please let us know --- we want to make sure everyone is safe.

On that note we want to thank all our parents for not sending WOW products as it is very difficult for us (and the other children) to tell the difference until it is too late.  We really appreciate your choice to honour this request.

Lunches

Backpacks

Please check these before and after school.  We don't want your home toys (too many problems with sharing, breaking, loosing, etc.  We encourage you to keep their toys at home (unless it's their special me --- that starts in January).

Please check these when they come home.  We often put precious artwork in as well as information on upcoming events.  Your children sometimes put in their favourite school toys/resources.  Please help us to keep your toys at home and ours at school.  Sometimes they have left over food in there too.

Class Calendar

This is our class calendar and will be updated on a regular basis.  Please see if you can help out with the Playdough schedule --- just email us with your preferred dates.  Thanks,

Night Sky Playdough (as on Pinterest)

- 1 cup flour

- 1 cup water

- black liquid watercolours

- 2 tsps cream of tartar

- 1/3 cup salt

- 1 tbsp vegetable oil

- 1 tsp Knox Unflavoured Gelatin (1/2 envelope)

- GENEROUS amounts of glitter (several colours of regular size and fine glitter to give the playdough a cosmic appearance)

Once you have your cup of liquid, pour it into a medium saucepan and then sprinkle the gelatin powder over the top.  Then, turn the burner on high and stir the liquid for a few minutes until the gelatin is dissolved.  After that, turn the heat down while you add the rest of your ingredients (except the glitter) and then crank the heat back up to medium.  Stir constantly until the dough thickens and begins to form a large clump around the spoon (this should only take a about a minute).  At this point, remove from heat and turn your dough out onto a plate or wax paper to cool.  Once it's cool. knead in your glitter.

We just want to take a moment and thank all of you for your support.  It is a pleasure working with such a supportive and caring group of parents.  We are always amazed at how generous you are with your time, encouragement, and resources.

Students bring in items that begin with the first initial of their name.

Pick Up/Drop Off:

We appreciate your support as you drop off and pick up outside the gate.  It is the school policy not to have strollers in the halls (fire regulations) and to say good-bye at the doors (e.g., outside the school).  We ask you to please stay outside the gate in order for us to ensure everyone goes home with the righ family.
